If he succeeds, as the L.A. Times suggests today, in showing that there is little difference on key issues between himself and McCain, then race may indeed decide the pick for many. While it is obvious that there would be a huge difference between an Obama and a McCain administration, the more Obama tacks toward the right the more he stands to lose.
