gay marriage Prop 8 Trial: Call to ActionHave you heard about the Prop 8 trial starting on Monday?

U.S. District Court Judge Vaughn Walker, who will be overseeing a federal court challenge to Prop 8 starting January 11, is considering whether or not to open the court room to TV cameras. The court just announced that it is seeking public comment on the proposal to televise the trial and that all comments must be submitted to the court by a 9am, Friday, January 8 deadline.

Those of us who want to see Prop 8 overturned have this remarkable chance to make our voices heard by calling for the trial to be televised in the interest of transparency and accountability. The Courage Campaign Institute, one of the principle organizations working to overturn Prop 8, is teaming up with CREDO Action to collect as many signatures as possible asking Judge Walker to televise the case.

Or if you are on Twitter please tweet the following: RT @CourageCampaignUrgent: sign the letter to Judge Walker. Tell him to televise the Prop 8 trial http://bit.ly/59ody5

Signatures and comments will be hand delivered to Judge Walker at the court house. The other side, the Mormon and Catholic churches, et al, is feverishly gathering comments of their own urging the judge to close off the trial. They do not want the proceedings televised. We need to submit as many letters of our own as we can. Your help is vital.
