However as an investigative reporter you should do your homework. 1969 Camaro's original sold for around 2,500-3,500 depending on options . They have recently sold at auction for 100K-800K . A 69 RS Z/28 that was a complete re-body (not as desirable as an all original car) just sold last month at the Barrett Jackson auction in Las Vegas for 125,000 plus the juice of 10%... a car that had a sticker price of about $2,700 in 1969. So you see, the taxpayers should be happy to have a "69 Camaro" thrown in the mix. It would represent one of the better investments the fed and our government would have made with tax payers money and unlike the "paper" if it all goes to hell and hand basket at the very least someone will have a classic piece of American muscle car to drive as a representation of when our auto industry was a thriving and successful business .
