no prisons no jailsCommunity Based Solutions: No Prisons No Jails

Saturday, June 23, 12-4pm

Zion Hill Baptist Church of Los Angeles
7860 Tenth Avenue, Los Angeles

Come to a community meeting that confronts the financial choices that LA and California’s politicians are making to invest our resources in policing and imprisonment, rather than the services we need.

Because we know some of the solutions to LA’s most urgent problems—housing, healthcare, education and opportunities for youth, public transit, re-entry services for people coming home from imprisonment, and more. Join us and be part of a “solution station” with some of LA’s leading social movement organizations.

BRAD AND EVERYBODY;  This is terribly naive!!!!  Really sick people should receive care in a medical facility.  Addicts should get help in ridding themselves of drugs on their backs.  Three strikes for misdemeanors is insanity on our parts.  But make no mistake there are some really bad conscienceless cruds and scum in the world.  There are Mafiosa, there are white collar criminals some of whom wear Navy blue suits and matching suits in Banks and Wall St.
There are abusers of children and the elderly, murderers, serial rapists, and kidnappers.

One of the wealthy guys who helped to kidnap 26 children in a school bus and bury them alive is getting out of prison NOW.  UNDER AB 109 HE WILL HAVE PAROLE SHORTENED BY MORE THAN HALF HEW ILL NEVER HAVE TO GO BEFORE A PAROLE BOARD TO SEE IF HE IS STILL BAD ENOUGH TO GO BACK.  SO IN THREE YEARS HE WILL BE CONSIDERED TO HAVE SERVED HIS ENTIRE SENTENCE,  HAVE NO SUPERVISION UNLESS HE COMMITS A CRIME AGAIN.                                       WHAT IF IT WAS YOUR CHILD ON THE BUS?   ARLINE
