If McCain-Palin are elected, it will be a complete disaster for America. Not merely because of what changes they won’t implement because of their muddled ideologies, although that will have a significant negative impact. Not even because of what wrong-headed changes they do instigate which will either exacerbate our problems or prolong the creation of real solutions.

It will be because the rest of the world – now watching us closely – will conclude that the American electorate has completely lost its collective mind and abdicated its responsibility to itself and to the community of nations to clean up its own house. We will be seen – correctly, I might add – as choosing to follow a two-pronged course of continuing our insane personal and national spending spree and praying (a la Palin and the approximately 100 million other evangelical-fundamentalist Christians in the U.S.) that Jesus returns “real soon” to save us.
