Help Advantage US Vets Put Veterans to Work

Put Unemployed Veterans to WorkCLAYVILLE, NY – Advantage US Vets (AUV) is celebrating our first Memorial Day by inaugurating our Garden of Honor to further our mission of putting our unemployed veterans to work in well-paying jobs while helping them make the transition to civilian life. We’re asking Americans everywhere to join in by honoring or memorializing their favorite veterans.

The Garden of Honor will be a lush, beautiful and tranquil spot to be nestled on our Roots & Sprouts Farmstead in scenic Upstate New York. Within the Garden will be installations of commemorative bricks honoring as many as we can of the brave men and women who fought for our nation.

“Our Garden of Honor will be such an important part of Roots & Sprouts that Memorial Day seemed to be the perfect time to launch it. We have released on our website a list of those veterans that AUV will be including – and now we are opening the Garden to all to include the veterans they care about as well,” said Capt. Mark L. Dyson, U.S. Air Force (ret.), and AUV President. “Our Garden of Honor will provide a needed place for remembrance and tranquility for vets and non-vets alike.”

By purchasing and dedicating commemorative bricks, Americans everywhere will be helping Advantage US Vets establish the Roots & Sprouts Farmstead as a not-for-profit workplace which will directly hire jobless honorably discharged veterans. There are at least 200,000 unemployed Iraq/Afghanistan-era veterans in the United States today, according to federal statistics. We believe no one who fights for his or her country should have to come home only to fight for a job.

The Advantage US Vets programs were created by veterans for veterans, to help them help themselves. They work in a setting which is safe, attractive and offers training and companionship. Our mission is different, innovative, and holistic. Our programs in organic agriculture, hospitality, business/technology, community service, and more are designed to meet a range of needs experienced by returning veterans.

To dedicate a brick in the Garden, please visit our campaign on the Indiegogo website. Scroll down through our “Perks” to find A PLACE IN THE GARDEN OF HONOR to dedicate a brick for $100, or IN THE GARDEN OF GLORY to dedicate a larger brick for $250. Regular bricks provide for three (3) lines, with a maximum of 18 characters per line. The larger bricks provide for five (5) lines, with a maximum of 18 characters per line.
