Good article, Tom. I just finished Sam Harris's great little book entitled "Letter to a Christian Nation" (Author of End of Faith). This event happened to compliment my recent viewing of Bill Maher's insightful movie "Religulous". My conclusion is that devout, "Christian" believers who espouse only one way to salvation are not only terribly misguided, but are perhaps the most hypocritical "family values" proponents in history. Whenever a candidate runs on a "family values" platform, invariably this false front hides a life of just the opposite realities. I am so sick of the hypocrytical Right-Wing Neocons. I cannot wait to see them gone!

Nice piece, Tom.

The Christian right has been contradicting itself as far back as when Dan Quayle went after a fictional TV show, Murphy Brown on some trumped up "family values" issue. It's all just a political smoke screen, hiding behind a curtain of intolerance like the Wizard of Oz.

Why else would a religious movement claim abortion is immoral but not state-sponsored executions? Or illegal wars? Or torture?

"Family Values" had a nice ring to it -- until people actually began peeking behind the Wizard's curtain to discover it's all a fake.
