Save the Internet Rally: Wednesday, 23 July

Save the Internet RallyOn the campaign trail in 2008, candidate Obama visited Google headquarters in Silicon Valley and pledged to “take a back seat to no one” in his commitment to Net Neutrality.

Since then he has appointed two FCC chairmen — Julius Genachowski and Tom Wheeler — who have failed to live up to the president’s pledge.

On July 23, Obama will return to California for a big fundraiser and we want to remind him how much we all care about the open Internet. That’s why we’re holding a big rally in L.A. to get the message out.

Help us grab the president’s attention — click here to join us!

Here are the details:

WHAT: Rally for Net Neutrality
WHEN: Wed., July 23, 4:00–7 p.m.
WHERE: The rally’s happening in the park at the Memorial Branch of the L.A. Public Library, which is located at 4625 W. Olympic Blvd. (on the corner of Olympic and S. Mullen Avenue).
PARKING: On-street parking is available on both sides of S. Mullen Avenue and in the parking lot of L.A. High School across the street (spaces are available there until 6:30 p.m.).
RSVP: Click here if you can make it.
BRING: Wear orange and bring a big, bold sign to show your support for the open Internet.

With the FCC considering rules that would gut Net Neutrality protections, it’s critical that Obama stand up for the open Internet. Now is the time to take to the streets and show the world that we refuse to settle for anything less than real Net Neutrality.

Join us next week in Hancock Park.

P.S. Rallies are more fun with friends! Bring folks with you — and help me spread the word by forwarding this email to everyone you know.

P.P.S. If you can’t attend in person but still want to help out please chip in $10 to help us plan rallies like this around the country. Thank you!
