Rev. Irene Monroe: Malawi’s anti-gay laws are some of the world’s toughest edicts criminalizing homosexuality so, understandably, the moratorium sent shock waves throughout the country and around the world.
Tim Gatto: Everyone who calls themselves liberal, progressive, socialist or populist should pitch in and get the corporate lackeys out of Washington and give the government back to the people who really own it. This is just a beginning. We can’t sit on our laurels and let others keep the momentum going.
Friday Feedback: I believe that it’s not the universities that are failing us. The failures are on the part of the individuals that see UCSD, or any university, as a soapbox for these racist and hateful viewpoints. Some small minority of students have accepted admission to UCSD and have wasted an opportunity for personal growth and enlightenment. Clearly these spots could have gone to more deserving people.
Timothy V. Gatto: The old maxim that hindsight is 20/20 while foresight is practically blind fits well in this example. Let me illustrate how I believe Obama has manipulated the system to the point where the political Left is for all intents and purposes, a dead political entity.
