Mario Solis-Marich: Over 80,000 ballots are still uncounted in Maricopa County, Arizona — the county that could reelect anti- Latino Sheriff Joe Arpaio
Brent Budowsky: What does it tell us that even after the 2010 election in what was called the year of the Tea Party, Americans chose a populist progressive Democratic president, not a Republican or conservative president, as their favorite over the last 50 years?
Kamala Harris California Attorney General On behalf of the Los Angeles County Democratic Party, I congratulate Attorney General-Elect Kamala Harris for her victory. As of today, she leads Republican Steve Cooley by 51,585 votes statewide and she has widened her lead in Los Angeles County significantly by 312,925 votes. With less than 3 weeks to go in the primary election, a new poll shows the Winograd/Harman race is competitive and may be reflecting an anti-incumbency wave. The IVR Poll of nearly 1,000 Likely Voters Indicates Winograd is within four points of the embattled incumbent. The poll of likely primary voters shows Congressional Candidate Marcy Winograd (CA-36) may well defeat opponent Jane Harman in the June 8th Democratic Party primary.

Democratic voter registration is up, a record turnout of voters is expected, and polls show independent voters trending Democratic and districts once thought safely in the hands of Republicans from the State Assembly to the Congress are up for grabs. This last happened in [...]
A recent study of voter fears shows that a large percentage of white, Democratic voters won’t vote for Barack Obama because his is black. The study reprises patterns that have driven race relations in business and society since our earliest colonial days and continue to this day. Even while agreeing that Republican / McCain policies [...]
Fifty-one minutes. If this was an answer on “Jeopardy!”, the question would be “How much time at the start of ABCNews’ two-hour Democratic presidential debate was spent on “gotcha” politics?” Unfortunately, this isn’t a game – but the jeopardy we face as a nation is all too real – a third Bush term, embodied in [...]
