Leonard Isenberg: What motivates me is something rather positive and comes from the fact that I am a product of what was best at LAUSD from 1952 until 1964, where I got an excellent education.
Anthony Samad: Bernard Parks disrespects people, the political office he holds, and the political processes he engages.
Ron Wolff: I suggest that it is not necessary to postulate bias against conservatives as the reason for the preponderance of liberals in academia. The simpler answer is that conservatives (with exceptions! I don’t want to over-generalize!) are less able (or at least less inclined) to engage in critical thinking worthy of an academic environment.
Adam Eran: Criminalizing drug consumption, rather than bad behavior, leads to enormous corruption–both domestic and international–and disrespect for the law.
Scott Prosterman: I knew coffee wasn’t good for me, but I kept drinking it. For several years, I did it socially, and even purchased it myself on a few occasions. Finally, I gave it up, at the same time I gave up booze, tobacco and other harsh substances. Coffee was interfering with my clear consciousness, and I could feel how it interfered with my sense of Oneness with the Universe.
Anthony Samad: I fell out of love years ago with the Democratic Party because of the way they disrespect black folk. Blacks “default” to the Democratic Party and get little (or nothing) in return. The Democrats think African Americans don’t have a choice but to vote for them, and they don’t have to work to keep their vote. And blacks often give their vote away before most Democrats can do something to earn it, thus earning the title as the Democrat’s “doormat constituency.”
Regardless of which side of the religious and socio-political spectrum a child’s parent or guardian is on, that child is innocent. Children are not billboards for hatred, malice and lies. But they can be purveyors of truth, and speak for the greater good. After all, it’s their faces and that most affect us.
