Ezili Danto: Aristide returned to Haiti Friday. I’ve not seen such genuine happiness on the faces of Haiti’s poor in over seven years. Welcome President Jean Bertrand Aristide and family.
David A. Love: It is unfortunate that it took an earthquake to put the spotlight back on poverty in Haiti. The difference is that no one cared, because people often become weary hearing about black people suffering.
