Charley James: Romney created his own problem with the media by flouting the truth and using falsehoods as a campaign strategy, figuring the media wouldn’t call him on it and the public wouldn’t notice.
Brent Budowsky: Obama should tell his story, and offer his narrative, about why people’s lives have gotten better in the first Obama term, which they have, and will get even better in a second Obama term, which they will.

Clifford “Felonius Ax” Tasner: Adelson’s got the accommodations next to ours, and for a guy who has made his fortune in casinos, you’d think he’d be a little less grumpy about the stream of Tampa Bay’s famous strippers coming in and out of our suites.
Joseph Palermo: The trick thus far for the Romney-Ryan ticket has been to pretend to want to “save” Medicare even while putting forth Ryan’s “voucher” plan that would end Medicare, not only “as we know it,” but end Medicare PERIOD.
Kathleen Peine: I am pretty sure that anarchists won’t be showing up in the numbers that Tampa Convention organizers and security fear, mainly due to obvious constraints. The rain from Isaac will wash off the chalk.
Carole Bartolotto: The problem with concluding that GMOs are safe is that the argument for their safety rests solely on animal studies. These studies are offered as evidence that the debate over GMOs is over. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Dan Bacher: Reservoir storage does not equate to water supply,” said Jay Lund, lead author of the report and director of the UC Davis Center for Watershed Sciences. “Reservoirs cannot supply water without a water supply to fill them first.”
