Mark Vorpahl: This latest budget crisis poses the question of “who do Portland’s elected leaders serve, the city’s majority of working class communities or big business and the wealthy?” So far, while the 99% have been suffering with all the belt tightening, Portland’s 1% have been left to grow fat.
Brent Budowsky: The man who famously has an elevator in his mansion for his family Cadillacs to rise to the proper floor has now been revealed, through a leaked video, to be ridiculing and insulting one-half of the nation.
Vivian Rothstein: By refusing to raise property, we’ve left it to the teachers to volunteer for the sacrifices the rest of us are not willing to make for the welfare of our state’s public school children.
Friday Feedback: Providing basic housing for veterans suffering from severe mental illness is the least we can do for the sacrifices they’ve made.
