Paul Hogarth: One of the Navy Seals who carried out the mission was a so-called “anchor baby” – the son of undocumented Mexican immigrants, who the American Taliban wants to strip of U.S. citizenship rights.
Tom Degan: I now unabashedly question the geography of where the president was born, Dag nap it! If it’s good enough for Sarah Palin and Donald Trump, it’s good enough for me!
Michael Sigman: Donald Trump’s transparently idiotic statements about President Obama’s birth certificate and other matters haven’t made Rupert Murdoch’s New York Post shy about touting the billionaire’s “suddenly surging presidential chances.”
Tina Dupuy: The First Amendment – arguably the foundation of our democracy – if brought up today would die in committee. Yes, our time is just that stupid.

Robert Reich: Republicans haven’t come up with a single new idea in almost 60 years. Herbert Hoover was the last Republican president to introduce a new Republican theme back in 1952 at the Republican National Convention. Since then they’ve repeated the message. Of course, Herbert Hoover, you may remember, didn’t have a sterling record when it came to the economy. As president, he presided over the Great Crash of 1929 and ushered in the Great Depression.
Tina Dupuy: Mr. Bush announced he had to cancel his first trip to Europe since he published his memoir and admitted to authorizing waterboarding. There were calls for large protests and threats of investigations, so Mr. Bush opted (as always) to stay in Texas. So, we ignore him. The GOP doesn’t mention him. And the rest of the world wants to lob a giant shoe at him. To make this all worse, the only person who seems to be toeing the line for Bush is…Barack Obama.
