Marcy’s Response to Jane Harman: You’re in the Bubble

Marcy Winograd: my JOBS, NOT WARS campaign against Jane Harman in today’ Democratic Party primary centers around connecting the dots between the trillions we spend on war and the money denied for sustainable job creation, affordable housing, strong public education, and quality health care for all.

Winograd vs. Incumbent Harman: The Margin Narrows

With less than 3 weeks to go in the primary election, a new poll shows the Winograd/Harman race is competitive and may be reflecting an anti-incumbency wave. The IVR Poll of nearly 1,000 Likely Voters Indicates Winograd is within four points of the embattled incumbent. The poll of likely primary voters shows Congressional Candidate Marcy Winograd (CA-36) may well defeat opponent Jane Harman in the June 8th Democratic Party primary.

When Spiders Unite, They Can Tie Down A Lion

winograd-voters

When spiders unite, they can tie down a lion is an old Ethiopian proverb that is a metaphor for what we, the people, can do when we stand united and work for what is in our best interest. Friends, we are calling you out – if you have ever held a dream for peace. Please give every spare minute you have, helping us guarantee a Winograd victory. This is our chance to change history. If we unify. If we work HARD. If we all do this as if it really, really matters. Which it does.

Winograd-Harman Vote Count: “Clearly the Party Leadership Circled the Wagons”

Caitlin Frazier: To many attending the California Democratic Party convention in Los Angeles last weekend, the vote to approve or object to the endorsement of Rep. Jane Harman (CA/36), was too close to call – certainly not reflective of a frenzied convention tabulation Party Chair John Burton delivered with the qualifier, “No one was bribed.”

Marcy Winograd: With more conclusive research will come louder and more urgent demands for environmental clean up at Super Fund sites near Torrance, stricter regulation and federal oversight of oil company pollution in Wilmington, and the political will to ensure our port reduces its diesel exhaust from idling trucks in San Pedro.

Winograd vs. Harman in California Primary: Will U.S. or Israel’s Interests Come First?

Winograd For Congress Headquarters (Photo by Linda Milazzo)

Linda Milazzo: Winograd’s grassroots momentum so concerned her opponent that Harman retaliated with an ideological assault of minor relevance to most residents in her district. Rather than going toe to toe with Winograd on constituent-specific matters, Harman chose Israel as her main campaign strategy. Though Harman and Winograd are both Jewish Americans, they hold radically different views on Israel.

When Woolsey Met Harman

Progressive Caucus Chair Lynn Woolsey (D-Marin)

David Swanson: Fortunately, I get the impression that a great many Angelenos and Americans are principled, decent, and sophisticated enough to support Woolsey when she does right and oppose her when she does wrong, and to overwhelm her misplaced advocacy with our support, donations, and volunteer time for the woman who will be the leader of the fight for the people’s views against the corporate agenda in the 112th Congress, Marcy Winograd.
