troy davis Troy Davis Execution DelayedTroy Davis’ execution which was scheduled for September 21, 2011 at 7:00 pm did not occur. The state authorities delayed the execution as they wait to hear from the United States Supreme Court.

The case has garnered worldwide attention because the conviction was based solely on witness testimony which has almost disappeared. Nine witnesses originally testified that they saw Troy Davis but later 7 of the nine witnesses recanted or altered their stories. One of the two remaining witnesses is said to be the real murderer.
