  1. Randy Shaw says:

I recently read Winner-Take-All Politics and was struck by the authors’ premise that their conclusions would prove surprising. Progressives have long argued that the political system has boosted inequality under Democrats and Republicans alike since the 1970′s, which is why there was such outrage on the left over Obama’s agreeing to extend the Bush tax cuts for millionaires. The book makes a great case for its conclusions, is highly readable and clearly spells the problem out (which makes it a great resource) but the question of growing inequality in the United States does not need a detective story to solve.
