About Ashley Thomas

Ashley Thomas joined LAANE in 2012 as the Research and Policy Analyst on the Construction Careers Project. Born in and raised in Los Angeles, CA, she has focused her career on advocating for issues facing women of color, with a particular focus on poverty, hunger and utilizing public policy as a vehicle for social change. She received her Master’s Degree in Public Policy with a focus on Black Feminism and Public Policy from Claremont Graduate University in 2012. In 2008, she received her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, in Gender and Women’s Studies and African American Studies. In her spare time Ashley plays co-ed flag football and is the lead singer for the Loyola Marymount Basketball team Pep Band.
