Berry Craig: People who use the Bible to justify their homophobia remind me of white supremacists who cited the Bible to buttress their racism. Kentucky SB 180
Berry Craig: McConnell will doubtless keep working non-stop to undermine and delegitimize the guy who won two presidential terms—the last time by nearly five million votes.
Berry Craig: “Part of the problem is that we currently have fewer senators and congressmen with any military experience than at any time since prior to World War II.”
Berry Craig: Predictably, the union-busters are in high dudgeon over Federal District Judge David Hale’s ruling that, in effect, invalidated a dozen county “right to work” ordinances in Kentucky.
Berry Craig: Kentucky AFL-CIO president says judge’s ruling against county RTW ordinance is a victory for Kentucky’s working families.
Berry Craig: “She has “a warmongering attitude, an undisguised hunger for power and a smug sense of entitlement that it’s her turn and that we owe it to her to put her in office.”
Berry Craig: We’ve got two good union candidates on the Democratic side and none on the other side. Trump and every other Republican in the running is a bare-knucks union buster.
Berry Craig: While the 10 teachers decry the CTA for being inherently “political,” they are helping further the overtly political agenda of a big-time, big-bucks union-busting outfit.
Berry Craig: I wouldn’t bet the farm that Ford’s big-time faith in its unionized Bluegrass State factories will change Governor-Elect Matt Bevin’s mind about Right To Work.
Berry Craig: Trump personifies everything the rest of the world despises about America: casual racism, crass materialism, relentless self-aggrandisement, vulgarity on an epic scale. He is the Ugly American in excelsis
Berry Craig: At least Matt Bevin, the guy Sen. Mitch McConnell’s campaign called an “East Coast con-man” during last year’s GOP senate primary brawl, is a consistent panderer.
Berry Craig: If reactionary Republicans and their Christian rightist followers were to visit just about any college campus in Kentucky, they’d get a pretty good idea that the future is not theirs, even in Bible Belt Kentucky.
Berry Craig: Once more, the social issues – what one of my union buddies calls “the three Gs – God, guns and gays”– have helped elect a reactionary union-buster in my home state.
