Richard Cohen: As a 54-year Progressive my transformative moment began at age 23 during our student strike at San Francisco State College in 1968 (still the longest in American history) and at the People's Park demonstrations in Berkeley about the same time. Since then my Progressive work has included working with Tom Hayden and Jane Fonda to help bring Rent Control to the city of Los Angeles and more recently in 2015 setting up the Bernie Sanders Speakers Bureau in Portland Oregon and then preparing to do the same for Elizabeth Warren before she ended her 2020 campaign.
