Tina Sacks



Tina Sacks is an associate professor of social welfare and faculty chair of the Center for Research on Social Change at the Institute for the Study of Societal Issues. Her fields of interest include racial and other inequities in health and healthcare. Her current work investigates the persistence of racial and gender discrimination in health care settings among racial/ethnic minorities who are not poor. She is author of Invisible Visits: Black Middle Class Women in the American Healthcare System (Oxford University Press) Her next major project will explore the implications of the infamous U.S. Public Health Service Tuskegee Syphilis Study on the study’s direct descendants.
