Comcast is expected to stack the hearing with corporate cronies who will comment in support of the merger. So we need you to join us so we can fill the room with people who have the courage to stand up for freedom of choice and speak out against this disastrous deal.If the CPUC votes to kill this deal, Comcast’s national domination plan could be over. Comcast needs a win in California because our state — specifically Los Angeles and the Southern California region — includes the most lucrative markets.
WHAT: LA Speakout Against the Comcast Monopoly
WHEN: Tuesday, April 14th, 2015, 12:30 PM
WHERE: California Public Utilities Commission
320 West 4th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013
An administrative judge overseeing the CPUC’s review of the merger recently recommended that it be APPROVED. But because public opposition to this merger has been so intense, Comcast is on the ropes and the CPUC has specifically opened up this meeting for LA residents like you to come forward. The CPUC commissioners are traveling to Los Angeles from their base in San Francisco because they want to hear how Southern California residents feel about this merger before they decide.
Your experience with Time Warner Cable or Comcast — from service interruptions to high prices to lousy customer relations – could help sway the CPUC to vote against the merger. Even if you are not a Time Warner or Comcast customer, you can speak about lack of competition and why it’s important to have real choices.
The CPUC has respected public opinion before, and if we get enough people to testify on the 14th, we can convince them to do the right thing again.
