Video games have changed so much; from Snake to Super Mario to Fortnite and Destiny. The video game graphics have changed a lot from simple to real looking characters. The change is immense. Some of the hot-selling video games are quite photorealistic and one could mistake them for being real movies. But being realistic isn’t just about graphics, reality is a part of a larger environment full of seemingly insignificant but real-world like occurrences. For example, the play does shift from day to night, characters show thirst or hunger and there are weather changes. Video games could include, first-person shooting, racing simulations or action games. Here are the 5 top games of 2021 with realistic features.

The Last of Us

The Last of Us is an action-adventure game in which a smuggler takes a girl across a post-apocalyptic world. It is played from the perspective of a third-person and it’s a multi-player game. The players can control the smuggler. It was praised for character development, sound and video design. However, it is the sequel – The Last of Us Part II, which has scored quite high on realistic depiction. The natural surroundings and cityscapes have been depicted well with rain-haze in Seattle, a beam of light through stained glass and windswept trees. It focuses on tiny details which make the lifelike video game a treat for the eyes.

Detroit: Become Human

Some of the hot-selling video games are quite photorealistic and one could mistake them for being real movies.

This is an adventure game and the plot follows androids – Kara, Connor and Marcus. The game is also played from a third-person perspective. The story can progress even if one character dies, depending on choices. It has quick dialogue decisions and time events, through which the story branches and each player can have a different scenario at the end. It depicts a world where androids look just like humans, and graphics justify that. The game makes you forget that you aren’t looking at real-life footage. It displays a hyper-realistic future city which is plausible at the same time. This is a favorite for those who enjoy a good photorealistic game.
