Kath Rogers, the Executive Director of the National Lawyers Guild, Los Angeles is encouraging both lawyers and non-lawyers alike to know their rights at the workplace. In her latest newsletter she announces “Know Your Rights at the Workplace” and a Legal Observer training session that will be held August 25, 2018 at the Left Coast Forum in Los Angeles. Here’s a snippet from the newsletter but you can read it in it’s entirety by clicking the link at the bottom of this article.
RSVP Now – Legal Observer Training – August 25th:
We will be holding a legal observer training on Saturday, August 25th at 10am at the Left Coast Forum. The training will be taught by longtime legal observer and leading expert on activist mass defense Dr. Jill Humphries. The training will cover the basics of legal observing, and will get you trained to join NLG-LA’s team of observers. It’s a good course for new-comers and as a refresher course for old-timers. RSVP here for the training (note: the Left Coast Forum appreciates donations; they are not required to RSVP).
Know Your Rights in the Workplace Booklet!
The NLG-LA Workers Rights Committee just released its long-anticipated Know-Your-Rights in the Workplace booklets in Spanish and English. The booklets are being printed and will be distributed to workers throughout the region. To get involved, join the committee’s regular meeting on Wednesday at 6:30pm (details here) or contact Ben at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We need your involvement more than ever. It is an honor to work by your side for justice.
Executive Director, NLG-LA
