If you are anything like me, since January, you’ve struggled to come to terms with the decisions made by this administration. Truth is, everyone I know is alarmed. Seems hardly a day passes without us learning something troubling, bizarre or downright scary coming from this White House.
Tired of sitting around wringing your hands? If you live near or will be around the Los Angeles area during the first week of November, here’s what I bunch of left leaning activists, organizers, and concerned people are doing:
From Nov 3-5, 2017 we’re getting together to talk about how to affect real change and get some things done that’ll benefit progressives in the era of Trump.
We’d really like for you to join us. We’re calling this three day convening the “Left Coast Forum“. It’s been modeled after New York City’s venerable Left Forum. In fact, the folks at the Left Forum in New York partnered with us to put this event on and KPFK is its media sponsor.
Prof. Rick Wolff, Aimee Allison, David Swanson, Eric Mann, Margaret Prescod and David Kyuman Kim and lots of others will be speaking. The National Lawyers Guild will be doing a training on Legal Observing. And there will be plenaries, films, book sales, food, networking opportunities, and entertainment. Here is a partial list of some of the organizations who will be at this event — Hay Market Books, ACLU-SC, Brave New Films, Cinema Libre, Bend the Arc and many more.
This will all take place at Los Angeles Trade Tech College — centrally located near Staples Center with lots of parking and great access to public transportation.
Want to learn more? The LA Progressive will be sending out more information as we firm up the schedule but it would be great if you’d get your tickets now!!
