Jerry Drucker, a long-time contributor to LA Progressive, passed away on February 9th.
We came to know Jerry through his association with the Valley Dems United club, where he contributed his witty columns to their monthly newsletter. We encourage you read some of this pointed commentary here.
Jerry always had a smile that would light up the room whenever we would visit him at as Valley Dems meeting, where he would be surrounded by his many friends.
An utterly charming and gracious man, he worked for many years as a Hollywood script writer, who could find humor in the dark days of Dubya and Donny.
One of his favorite stories was about an early assignment in Hollywood where as a young man his job was to make sure that not too much of an actress's cleavage would show onscreen. A tough assignment, but someone had to do it, he would say.
Jerry's sharp wit, good humor, and gracious friendliness are already missed.
Services will be held at Mt. Sinai Memorial Park, 5950 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles on Monday, February 17, 2020 at 11:30AM. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.
