Did you know the Los Angeles County Sheriff is an elected official? Come meet the candidates for the upcoming L.A. Sheriff election at the L.A. Sheriff Debates, moderated by the League of Women Voters. Six candidates competing for the office will introduce themselves to the public in debates scheduled on March 20 in Los Angeles and April 24 in Santa Monica. Former Sheriff Lee Baca stepped down at the end of January making this one of the most open and widely contested sheriff’s election in recent memory.
