All-day “Justice and Only Justice” Conference will be presented April 6 in Pasadena by Friends of Sabeel Los Angeles and Orange County

What non-violent actions can best support Palestinians as they resist Israeli occupation? Leading scholars and Interfaith activists from Palestine and the United States will join together for an all-day conference to explore answers to that question. The full day conference, “Justice and Only Justice,” takes place on April 6, 2013 at the Pasadena Presbyterian Church, 585 East Colorado Boulevard, Pasadena, CA 91101 from 8:30 am to 7:35 pm.

The Keynote Address will be made by a leading Human Rights Attorney in Israel and Palestine. The first Plenary Session will give attendees an overview of the ordeal of Palestinians' everyday life under the Israeli occupation. Nine workshops will then offer strategies for support, nonviolent resistance and action, including boycott, divestment, and sanctions, witness and activist trips to Palestine, misuse of the Bible, and economic development in Palestine. One workshop, presented by the world's leading expert on the subject will focus on the special plight of Palestinians in Gaza. Another special workshop will present the response of American Interfaith groups to the KAIROS PALESTINE call for international attention to the condition of Palestinians under the longest occupation in modern history. Workshops will repeat in the afternoon. Speakers and workshop leaders include:

A special guest, the Rev. Allan Boesak, a leading figure in the South African Anti-Apartheid Movement, will give the closing address to the conference at 6:50 PM. The international Sabeel movement's mission is to amplify the voice of Palestinian Christians and to work with peace-builders of all faiths and convictions who stand with the oppressed and who work for a just peace through non-violent means in Palestine/Israel. Friends of Sabeel North America (FOSNA) is one of many worldwide groups—including the Friends of Sabeel Los Angeles and Orange County—who support the vision of Sabeel through regional educational conferences, alternative pilgrimages, witness trips, and international gatherings in the Holy Land.

FOSNA is a non-profit Christian ecumenical organization seeking justice and peace for Palestinians through non-violent activism and education. FOSNA challenges distortions of the Bible and theologies that lead to violence and racism, including Anti-Semitism and Islamophobia, and condemns all acts of violence, whether done by states, groups, or individuals. FOSNA calls for the end of the occupation of Palestine and an end to U.S. Policies that perpetuate the occupation of and expropriation of Palestinian land and resources.
