Thanks to everyone for these comments. I also want to add that the PDA (Progressive Democrats of America) have endorsed Kevin De Leon for US Senator in California, and they have strict “progressive” criteria before endorsing anyone!

Respectfully…but emphatically…many these endorsements are TERRIBLE! NOT PROGRESSIVE!

If LA Progressive is truly Progressive…then a number of these endorsements are way off the mark!

Just the few that grab me most pointedly.

SOS – Alex Padilla = awful!.
True Progressive…and champion of election integrity is RUBEN MAJOR.
Padilla has not supported election integrity. If we can’t count on that…then all political action is “useless”.
Ruben Major is the correct choice!

Lt. Governor – GAYLE MCLAUGHLIN is the true Progressive.
Others aren’t even close. What Gayle did in Richmnond, CA is nothing short of amazing.
    Bold, authentic, Progressive. Case closed.

AD 63. This one is truly mind-bobbling. Anthony Rendon directly scuttled CA Single Payer healthcare, CA SB 562 (Healthy California Act). He is an anathema now to those pushing for truly progressive (and equitable) healthcare for all Californians. The true Progressive for AD 63 is MARIA ESTRADA.

There are a few others worthy of comment, but in scanning the list briefly…these three stick out like a “sore thumb”.

Again, emphatic here with an opinion and passionately so. Expressing my strong views.
(Everyone is entitled to their own view.)

KDL is not a true progressive. Support a true progressive for US Senate, Alison Hartman. Alison takes NO corporate funding. She will be beholden to the citizens of California, not the corporations special interests. She cannot be bought like corporate candidates, KDL and DF.

      YES I agree.
I am sick of being apart of the Corporate Weak Democratic Party.
After TRUMP., and his swamp of extreme right wing candidates I know the DNC is just more of the same. They only support corporate candidates. Even on this Progressive site it’s very sad you ignore Alison Harston. I hope she kicks A*!
No longer will I pay attention to the noise from the DNC that Progressives can’t win!or even this site that a REAL Progressive can’t win.
I am voting for Alison Hartson, even if she doesn’t place, I will sleep better knowing that I voted with my conscience for more inclusive, stronger California.

I echo the previous comment. I am horrified that the LA “Progressive” is endorsing Alex Padilla for Secretary of State. Padilla has been sued by the ACLU for discarding thousands of vote-by-mail ballots. Padilla has also been sued by Asian Americans Advancing Justice / Asian Law Caucus for depriving thousands of Californians with language assistance in their ballots. And of course, there’s the 2016 Democratic Party primary fiasco in California.

WHY ARE YOU ENDORSING THIS UNETHICAL AND NEGLIGENT DISASTER OF A SECRETARY OF STATE (AT BEST), OR A WILFUL ELECTORAL CRIMINAL AND VOTER SUPPRESSOR (AT WORST)?!?!?!? WHATABOUT RUBEN MAJOR OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY? (OR ERIK RYDBERG OF THE GREEN PARTY)?????

Also, why not endorse Gayle McLaughlin for Lieutenant Governor? She is the perfect example of an anti-Establishment candidate with an extraordinary record as former mayor of Richmond, California. She was also endorsed by Our Revolution.

I’m relieved that Dianne Feinstein is not being endorsed and am glad Kevin de Leon is being endorsed for US senator, but I’m still horrified that Alex Padilla is getting endorsed by any “progressive” group. What on Earth is happening?????

What happened to LA Progressive?! I am so stunned by your endorsements, at first I thought it was a joke. Seriously. For our June 5th Primary, we have AMAZING noncorporate progressives running. Since moving to California in 1984, I have NEVER witnessed such an impressive slate of progressives willing to fight for progressive issues as I do in this election, & you overlooked ALL of them. I think I am most knocked over by your endorsement of Alex Padilla, the SoS who, under the pretense of running a fair & impartial election, orchestrated the mess involving No Party Preference voters in the 2016 Primary which resulted in the disenfranchisement of an untold number of votes, while actively campaigning for one of the candidates. I guess we have to go back & re-establish what it actually means to be a progressive. I thought that progressives strongly supported the following issues: Income & wealth inequality is the
great moral, economic, & political issue. It’s time for tuition & debt free college. Getting big money out of politics must happen. Our economy desperately needs decent paying jobs. No full-time worker should live in poverty. Put people before polluters in combating climate change. A nation of immigrants needs a fair & humane immigration policy. We must pursue racial justice to affirm the value of people of color. We need to address the affordable housing crisis. We have got to go forward when it comes to women’s rights, LGBTQ equality, empowering tribal nations, caring for our veterans, a single-payer national healthcare program, strengthening & expanding Social Security, lowering prescription drug prices, disability rights, & more. What about all the outstanding candidates who are running on this very platform?! Pat Harris, Alison Hartson, David Hildebrand, Christopher Carlson, Delaine Eastin, Josh Jones, Gayle McLaughlin, Michael Feinstein, Ruben Major, Erik Rydberg. Sure, you can attribute a couple of these issues to any one of your endorsements, but the candidates I named are actually running on that platform & aren’t taking corporate money because they know that to take that money is to serve the interests of the donors. I’m just so stunned by your endorsements.

There is a crisis in the “progressive” movement. It stems from a lack of confidence in the working class so folks think that the only way forward is to maintain the status quo with those who enable a system that must be changed. I and other folks who do not accept the unacceptable will continue to fight for real change, and continue to gain support from those who are serious about humanity’s progress.
