Each week, LA Progressive’s editors pick what they regard as a particularly insightful comment from one of our readers, both to draw attention to one particular reader’s thoughts and to encourage more readers to weigh in with their opinions. This week’s pithy "Feedback Friday" response comes from Wes King, who commented on the article by Cliff Smith, "What Saturday’s “Justice Reform” Conversation with Bernie Sanders Needs to Address."
What Bernie could not “account for” is being swindled out of victories in both NY and CA Democratic primaries as well as the hundreds of super delegates baked into the cake for Clinton in 2016.
He was pretty “Brooklyn” when he commanded a 30,000 person rally there just prior to the NY Dem primary (Clinton could not even fill a small office conference room in parallel).
He walked the walk for Civil Rights (and got arrested for it). The Goldwater Girl did not.
I would not use the term Camelot in any association with Clinton. That’s an affront to John F Kennedy’s legacy. There was some legitimate Camelot there.
Startlingly, even some supposed Civil Rights icons…I will name one in particular: Rep. John Lewis in Georgia, could not wrap their heads around this fact…and showed obsequious fealty to Clinton for the duration. Shameful to say the least. It is what it is…

There was a lot of hypocritical failure amongst so-called Democrats in 2016. Many of them showed more allegiance to the access to power and status (the elixir of a Clinton Presidency) as opposed to standing for the principles of what Progressive Democrats once were supposed to represent.
So the end result, which could have been a President Sanders….has now become a President Trump.
Not Bernie’s fault. Squarely on the shoulders of the Corporate Democrat Establishment too in lust with money, power and the associated benefits.
