Mastering one’s mindset is often identified as one of the most critical aspects of achieving success. A success mindset is crucial to becoming highly accomplished individuals, whether in one’s personal life, a specific interest, or entrepreneurial pursuits. In his blog, GatesNotes, Bill Gates says that the essence of a growth mindset lies in thinking that, like one’s muscles, even essential qualities like skills and intelligence can be trained and improved.

For real estate mogul and mentor Kris Krohn, a similar realization pushed him to transform from being a broke college kid into the highly successful thought leader he is today. From an unfulfilling career in telemarketing, a continuous change in mindset allowed Krohn to transition to a lucrative life in real estate investing. By combining this early success with his accumulated experience, Krohn stepped up to a career where he could share his mindset of growth and wealth.

Now a best-selling author, philanthropist, and popular business and breakthrough coach, Kris Krohn shares five ways to nurture a success mindset and kick-start one’s very own journey toward having it all.

1. Find Your Mentors

Mentoring is an incredibly important aspect of career development; one’s career progression is directly related to how well a person has been mentored over the years. Examples of this can be found everywhere. Apple founder Steve Jobs mentored Mark Zuckerberg when the latter was still in the development stage of Facebook. American poet and artist Maya Angelou guided Oprah Winfrey through the most important years of her life. Even Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates admits to always turning to Warren Buffett for advice on various topics.

Each mentor had given these famous figures enough encouragement and knowledge to achieve greatness in their lives.

The same is true for Kris Krohn.

Krohn credits his first mentor for introducing him to real estate investing, which eventually earned him $12,000 per month and allowed him to escape the rat race at just 26 years old. Now with more than 15 years of experience, Krohn considers the various mentors he has had through the years as equally invaluable, with each contributing to his realization of just how crucial a success mindset is to one’s wealth skill set.

Today, Krohn offers services that allow him to become this mentor to both investors and everyday individuals. Through various books and educational courses, he hopes to condense his decade and a half of in-depth experience into bite-sized pieces that allow his readers, clients, and followers to figure out how to jumpstart their own successful lives.

2. Partner Up

Besides one’s mentors, Krohn found it equally important to appreciate and learn from those one works with, including employees, partners, clients, and investors. By working with, learning from, and valuing such partnerships, the real estate tycoon believes people can achieve more for themselves than through single-minded focus on personal growth.

As LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman puts it, “No matter how brilliant your mind or strategy, if you’re playing a solo game, you’ll always lose out to a team.”

3. Grow Through Balance

In contrast to the typical entrepreneurial advice of going all-in with one’s work, Kris Krohn believes that a holistic approach in life is essential to true happiness. His company slogan, “Have It All,” distills this concept and identifies what he considers to be three keys to a prosperous life: health, wealth, and relationships.

In Krohn’s roadmap and mindset, the genuinely successful should be able to have their cake and eat it, too.

4. Experience Breakthroughs

The concept of a “Belief Breakthrough” is something unique to Kris Krohn. After all, experiencing a breakthrough in college made him who he is today. In essence, he urges everyone to review their established beliefs and choose to break through from those that limit their success.

5. Give Back

After experiencing a breakthrough and achieving financial freedom, Kris Krohn found his purpose in helping others achieve a similar level of success. This aspect of his mindset is something that distinguishes him from a typical business coach. Instead of simply continuing his pursuit of success, he is driven to serve and share his knowledge with others. This desire inspires him to always give his best so that his clients can also “Have It All.”

Beyond the products he offers, Krohn continues his service mindset through the Krohn Breakthrough Foundation, a nonprofit that aims to provide breakthroughs to those who need them most.

As evidenced through this foundation, his products, and every action, Kris Krohn believes “that each and every one of us can have anything we want, as long as we know the path to get there and have the gumption to take action—to get it.” With these five tips, Kris Krohn hopes to help guide others toward the start of their own paths.
