The company was founded by Moulay Omar Zahraoui in the year 2011 when the tobacco industry had just started growing. Moulay had learned about the tobacco industry from Germany and South Korea. In less than a decade Moulay became one of the richest businessman in Morocco while also establishing himself as an entrepreneur and investor.

Habanos S.A is the biggest cigar factory located in Casablanca, Morocco. The businessman is all set to further aggrandise now in London, to make sure to reach his goal of being the top company in global markets. Moulay’s company currently owns a whopping amount of $50 million in tobacco stock and has made sure to leave no stones unturned for the expansion of the brand, he believes delivering quality products and loyalty of their distributors and employees is the reason behind the company’s ascendency.
A major chunk of revenue is generated domestically. Moulay still makes sure to have experts from across the world working at the factory to train the local teams in order to boost the quality of their products and economy. The price of Habanos S.A cigars widely range from 40 - 500 USD per piece making it broadly available to cigar fanatics.
Sharing some insight on his plans, he shares, “We are already having constructive discussions with potential partners in the United States and London. We will gradually target markets of different countries. Currently, the first three markets we plan to target are London, New York and New Delhi.”
Besides this, the businessman also has plans to initiate one of its kind cigar lounges with a theme of dance forms like belly dancing, salsa, jazz and others. Moulay plans to launch the same in Africa and later expand his entire of lounges globally.
Furthermore, to cater to the elite class Hanbanos S.A is currently working on developing premium unique handcrafted Moroccan cigars.
Last year they organised the first ever cigar trade show in Africa. This year, they are planning to invite cigar connoisseurs and distributers of tobacco from all across the globe for their second cigar trade show that will be held in Casablanca, only after the coronavirus crisis comes to a cusp.
