One thing that I certainly love about actors is their ability to put their heart and soul in the characters that they are playing and get in front of the audience. This is what makes an actor unique because as an art form, you are creating everything that was part of your vision in front of audience. It is certainly called “Play” but it is a very serious art form and we all can learn a thing or two from the actors. I encountered with an amazing actor from Los Angeles who has been born and brought up in India and he is currently pursuing acting in an acting school in Los Angeles. He told us about his journey and how he is moving towards his goals. Let me introduce to you, Romeo Yanger.
Romeo Yanger is 24 years old actor who has been living in LA for past few years and has been acting in many plays, short films and local commercials. Born and brought up in a middle-class Indian military family, he has been through many ebbs and flows in his life. Romeo spent most of his childhood in a small town in Nagaland before his father moved to Jammu and Kashmir with his family from where later on, he could move to LA to pursue acting on a scholarship. He says that acting is like sitting on a roller coaster ride of emotions and justifying your character through its ebbs and flows. He believes that acting has a way to create an alternate reality within this reality and therefore, it allows us to live within the art.
“Even cinema makes us live within its story and makes us forget our identity for a few hours and we merge our identity with the hero of the story or the character we find ourselves most relatable with.”
“Even cinema makes us live within its story and makes us forget our identity for a few hours and we merge our identity with the hero of the story or the character we find ourselves most relatable with.” Romeo makes an amazing remark.
We asked him about his usual day in LA and how he manages to work hard because it takes much more than talent to make it successful to the Hollywood or Bollywood dream. Romeo told us that as of now, he is entirely focused on his acting career but earlier when he used to study at acting schools, he would do odd jobs as a waiter, cashier or courier delivery boy but those jobs taught him a lot about life and also helped him learn the nuances of human behaviour in different circumstances. It is so pleasing that he has learnt so much about acting and its nuances at such young age.
“Being a fan of Quentin Tarantino and Christopher Nolan, I love the portrayal of nuances of the characters and showcase of the objective details in cinemas.” Says Romeo Yanger.
Romeo Yanger is a huge fan of Tom Cruise and Al Pacino and he says that he wishes to be a Global star and he might try his luck in Bollywood as well as Hollywood and he has been working really hard on his skills which are required to be a true global star. Talking about Bollywood, he says that Zoya Akhtar is his favourite director as she always makes movies which have real life characters without any larger than life portrayal of characters which really moves him. He also expressed his wish of working in one of her future projects.
Romeo Yanger says that his father is his inspiration and he wants to make him proud with his acting. From what we observed, we are sure that we are going to see Romeo Yanger more and more around us. May be in Hollywood or Bollywood but we are sure that he will entertain us with his movies and charming mannerisms that he has. His dedication and inquisitiveness to learn acting will make him a global icon sooner than later. He just needs a much deserving break that we are sure he will get really soon. We wish him all the best for his future projects.
