Back in April 2019, WWE held a draft to Shake-up superstars in WWE RAW and Smackdown, during that shake-up Vince McMahon introduced a rule according to which 4 superstars would be free to appear in the other brand for one night if they are invited.

With the latest WWE news of SmackDown moving to Fox and RAW staying with the US Network, WWE has thought of having another draft to split the brands for good. After this draft is over the Wild Card rule would be violated and a wrestler will be decisively be put into one of the brands.

Like the WWE drafts of the past, this one will not be one supervised by both the general managers, Instead, this one will be headed by MLB ALl-star and FOX analyst Alex Rodriguez, along with him Michael Che from Saturday Night Live and Colin Jost of “weekend update “ segments is set to be there.

Other celebrities including “ Mr.Robot’s ” Christian Slater, “NFL on FOX’s” Joe Buck and Pro Football Hall of Famer Troy Aikman, and “ Mad Money” host Jim Cramer are also set to be a part of the show.

There are certain set of rules, which will act as a guideline for the Draft, the rules are as follows:

Recommended Articles

  • SmackDown will receive 30 picks and Raw will get 41 picks.
  • As Raw is a longer show(3 hours) compared to SmackDown(2 hours), for every two SmackDown picks Raw will get 3 picks.
  • Any Unsigned wrestlers, will be treated as free agents and they can sign with the brand of their choosing.
  • Tag teams count as one pick unless Fox or the USA network specifically wants only one member of the team.

Over 70 wrestlers are set to be a part of the draft, champions from across brands are also going to be in the draft, however, the WWE 24/7 champion and the women’s tag team champions will still defend their titles across brands for a valid WWE results.

The opening match of the Draft episode is set to between Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. This draft will again completely change both the brands, whether this will bring some good luck for the ratings of WWE is still a question.
