Red-Baiting and Racism: Socialism as the New Black Bogeyman. This noise is about race. It is about “othering” a President who is seen as a symbol of white dispossession: dispossession of white hegemony, white entitlement, white expectation, and white power, unquestioned and unchallenged from the darker skinned other. -Tim Wise

McClintock’s Neocon “Morality” Tortures the Truth. Oddly, McClintock yearns for the golden era when California was a more highly taxed state and could afford “the finest highway system in the world and the finest public school system in the country. California offered … FREE university education.” -Adam Eran

When the Dead Have No Say. Apparently, escalating the warfare is much more attractive to Washington’s policymakers than actually challenging the main supporters of the Taliban in Afghanistan — the Pakistani government. -Norman Solomon

On Health Care, It’s “E Pluribus” Without the “Unum.” The fact that nearly 50 million American citizens have no access to health care and when they get sick or injured they are either driven into bankruptcy or suffer from being denied care does not seem to register with these people. -Joseph Palermo

Sarah Palin’s Death Panels. The "town meetings" that are now spewing such anger reflect deepseated fears that are welling up across America during this economic crisis. Healthcare reform may ease some of these fears. But the demagogues that are manipulating those fears for political gain don't give a hoot. -Robert Reich

CNN Airs Anti-Immigrant Front Group’s ‘Pro-Labor’ Incendiary Ad . While CNN refuses to air an ad criticizing the insurance industry which is actually backed by labor, the “Coalition” of anti-immigrant labor-friendly posers has its misleading ad placed on regular rotation. -Andrea Christina Nill

Boycotting Fox News Advertisers. Complaining to Fox News, or even CNN about Lou Dobbs, for instance, does not always seem productive. Boycotting sponsors/advertisers seems a stronger way to protest. -Carl Matthes

Eyewitness from Honduras. The U.S. is involved in what is happening in Honduras up to its eyeballs. The leaders of the coup government, the military and those financing the coup are all the principal allies of the U.S. -Patrick Bonner

Washing Dishes for Change. The companies too big to fail have grown larger. The financial companies still run under the same model and free of much regulation like before. -John Delloro

Adam Schiff’s Town Hall Fracas. Last night tempers flared during a boisterous town hall meeting on health-care reform attended by 3,000 people. The event was organized by U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff (D- Burbank). -Larry Gross

How To Fight Heathcare Fearmongers and Demagogues. The President needs to be very specific about two things in particular: (1) Who will pay? and (2) Why the public option is so important — and why it’s not a Trojan Horse to a government takeover. -Robert Reich

Could a Constitutional Convention Break California’s Impasse? The state is ungovernable for many reasons. The New Volt and an Old Nash Rambler. American Motors and Nash have long-since disappeared. But if the auto industry could build that kind of fuel-efficient, gas-powered engine in the 1950s, why did it stop and why is the Volt such a big deal? -Charley James
