I live in Switzerland and spent some time studying in the USA ages ago. It’s there, in Ohio state, that after Prom dance my high school friends asked me how Jeff was kissing. I understood that I had no idea since we had not been kissing. “What ? He took you out to eat and to dance and you did not even kiss him?” is the answer I got from all of them.
In my home country women obtained the right to vote in…1972, yes in the heart of old supposedly “civilized” old Europe.
#metoo I’ve been abused as a child, #metoo I’ve been abused as a teen, by an eye doctor (!!!) who did the same to many other children and teenagers, was judged and… moved to another state to start his professional activity again, #metoo I got harassed at different work places, so much that I gave up on two jobs I adored, knowing that the fight would be too long and with no positive result assured. Not mentioning the endless comments from male colleagues about the way I get dressed, my hair, my different body parts…
I held my breath reading your article and felt touched until my very core, feeling that someone was writing for me, about my own thoughts, speaking out loud for me – I felt understood and supported and so very moved.
