Each week, the editor’s of LA Progressive pick what they regard as a particularly insightful comment from one of our readers, both to draw attention to one particular reader’s thoughts and to encourage more readers to weigh in with their opinions. This week’s pithy “Feedback Friday” response comes from Charles Fredericks, who commented on Kevin Anderson’s “Trump’s Nuclear Threats Against North Korea and Iran Pose Existential Crisis for Humanity”
I’m with you Kevin, nice writing, but I think it is unrealistic to think that the US population will rein in Trump over his bellicosity toward North Korea and Iran— not that we won’t want to, mind you.
I think he is scaring the hell out of a lot of influential people, but probably not enough. The main stumbling block on that front is that legally it is more difficult, than nailing him for “high crimes and misdemeanors.”
Perhaps his idiocy will spur enough defections to allow Robert Mueller’s investigation to proceed with actual charges. I think he’s trying to build an air-tight case on numerous fronts, but knows he will have to take down many pawns before he can take the king. Let’s hope so.
The clock is ticking. The closer the investigation gets to reality, the more likely he’ll create an excuse to go to war, with us helplessly screaming in the streets to no avail as in 2003.
